SHORT STORY DESCRIPTION
Rose's War is a WWII era interracial musical love story set mostly in Harlem and New York nightclubs, but also in war torn England.
WWII is raging. Rose Sweet, who is black, falls in love with white bomber pilot Danny Capucci. When they are separated by the war these two singer-songwriters write each other every day with dreams of making it big together in the music business and living happily ever after. But Danny is being traumatized by the war and tempted by Sophie Hudson, a star recording artist from New York who’s a USO headliner in London. And Rose is fighting a war that looks to have no end to it; the war against racism. So, when Danny returns to New York with Sophie, who has done so much to keep him alive and is madly in love with him, the odds are slim that there can be a happy ending for Rose and Danny’s interracial love story.
